Data we collect
cSYMd is an academic research lab website. We do not collect personal information about individuals who simply view this site. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, visitor fingerprinting, or similar tools to monitor ordinary browsing.
The only personal information we collect is what you choose to send us:
- Name, email address, area of interest, and message details you voluntarily submit via the contact form (when configured).
- Any personal information you include in emails you send us (for example, to ntberry@uncg.edu).
If we later add privacy-respecting analytics or other data practices, we will update this notice before doing so.
How we use information
- To respond to student inquiries, research collaboration requests, and open-source questions.
- To maintain basic records of academic correspondence where appropriate.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising.
Contact form & third parties
When the contact form is configured, it may be powered by Formspree. Submissions are transmitted over HTTPS so we can receive your message. Formspree’s privacy policy applies to form data they process on our behalf. We only receive the fields you submit (and related delivery metadata).
Spam protection may use Google reCAPTCHA when you submit the form. In that case Google may process device and usage data under its privacy policy for the spam check. We do not use reCAPTCHA data for advertising or for tracking ordinary site browsing.
This site loads fonts and stylesheets from third-party CDNs (for example Google Fonts, Cloudflare CDN for icons, and Tailwind’s CDN). Those providers may see standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser headers) as part of delivering assets — the same as any site that uses external resources.
Cookies & local storage
We do not set first-party analytics or advertising cookies. We do not store personal information in your browser via cookies or local storage for tracking purposes. Third-party services involved in form submission or spam protection may set their own cookies when you use those features; see their policies for details.
Data retention & security
We retain contact and email correspondence only as long as needed for academic correspondence or legal requirements. Form submissions are delivered over HTTPS when configured. No contact form data is stored in this website’s static files or committed to the repository.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you (from form submissions or email) by emailing ntberry@uncg.edu.
